A Complication and a New Request for Prayer

As many of you know, today was scheduled to be Amy’s liver transplant surgery. We were admitted to the hospital yesterday and are ready to move forward this morning with the procedure. However, during the night, Amy experienced unexpected complications that required us to head to the ER late last night.

After extensive evaluation, her surgical team determined that she now needs to undergo an emergency bowel surgery before they can proceed with the liver transplant.

At this point, there is a possibility that the transplant may not be able to happen today. That said, the lead surgeon remains optimistic and believes they will be able to move forward with the transplant once this first procedure is complete and Amy is stable.

We are asking for your prayers in this critical window:

  • Pray that the bowel surgery will be successful and provide the answers and healing needed for the transplant to proceed.
  • Pray for wisdom, steadiness, and skill for the surgeons as they make moment-by-moment decisions.
  • Pray for peace and strength for the donor, who is already at the hospital, ready to undergo their part of the procedure. They are currently on hold while Amy’s condition is being evaluated.
  • Pray that we will continue to trust God’s timing and presence, even as the day unfolds differently than expected.

If all goes well, the transplant could still happen today, but may extend late into the night, possibly until midnight or beyond.

We are resting in the Lord’s care and clinging to His promises, even in the uncertainty. Thank you for your continued support and love.

Blessings,
James

“But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hand…”
